I’m so excited to have the cover and release dates of my fourth novel for adults, You Found Me.
Hardback out on 9th August in the UK, Australia & New Zealand; paperback out on the 13th of December.
You Found Me is a story of how sometimes people find each other in the most unexpected lives and change one another’s lives forever.
A story of love, loss, family and immigration.
I can’t wait for you to read it!
A promise made in haste. A search for lost memories. Three lives changed forever. Early one morning, Isabel and her eleven-year-old daughter River are walking across Regents Park when they come across a distraught-looking man sitting on a bench. They ask him if he’s OK, but he doesn’t know the answer. In fact he doesn’t know the answer to any of their questions – he doesn’t even know his name. Urged on by her daughter, Isabel takes the man to hospital and hopes that will be the end of it. But when the tests show there’s nothing physically wrong with him, and yet he still can’t remember who he is, she realises she can’t walk away. With no ID on him, she will have to call the authorities but there’s a look of fear in the man’s eyes and she knows that’s the last thing he wants. Isabel begins to worry about what he might be hiding about his past but she also made a promise to River that they would help this man. Can they trust him? And how far is she prepared to go to keep her word to her only child?

Years ago, on a small island off the coast of Scotland, I went on a wonderful writing retreat organised by Patricia Lee-Lewis. On the first day I met someone who has been a dear friend and writing buddy since: Heather Reed. A few years later, at Eater, I went to stay in her home in Westport, Massachusetts and she took me to her local bookstore, a lovely independent bookshop called Partners Village Store. I sat there and wrote, drank coffee and ate some delicious blueberry muffins. Now I'm living in the US and am a published author - so what could be more wonderful than returning to that small town and that lovely bookstore to give a reading of my latest novel, Wishbones? I do hope that you can join me. Virginia x

It is with great joy that I will be speaking at the New Hampshire Library Association READS Fall Conference 2017. I have a great love for libraries and a great admiration for librarians: libraries should form the heart of our communities. Bringing my little girl to Concord Library every Saturday morning during my first year living in America was the greatest blessing. My daughter, Tennessee Skye, and I shared so many books and made some wonderful friends. I will be discussing my adult novels, What Milo Saw, The Return of Norah Wells, Before I Was Yours and my debut YA novel, Wishbones. I do hope you can join me. Virginia x
The conference will be held at the beautiful Audubon Centre in Concord, NH
