I love working with schools. Partly because I was an English teacher for ten years, partly because I write for young adults as well as adults but also because I find children hugely inspiring. Their curiosity, their courage in asking hard questions, their authenticity and their willingness to try new things is tremendously energising. So, I’m thrilled to bits to be celebrating World Book Day with the children of Dedworth Middle School in my homeland – and the county where I lived before moving to the US, Berkshire. On the 1st of March at 9am EST, 2pm GMT, I’ll be running a writing workshop and answering questions about Wishbones, my debut YA novel. Pupils have already read the opening chapters so I’m excited to have their thoughts and questions. If you’re interested in me visiting your school – either in person, if your school is within driving distance of Concord, NH, or by Skype, do contact me: email@example.com Happy World Book Day everyone!
