You Found Me-3

I’m so excited to have the cover and release date of my fourth novel for adults, You Found Me.

Paperback out on in the UK on the 13th of December (hardback: 9th August).

You Found Me is a story of how sometimes people find each other in the most unexpected lives and change one another’s lives forever.

A story of love, loss, family and immigration.

I can’t wait for you to read it!

Virginia

A promise made in haste. A search for lost memories. Three lives changed forever. Early one morning, Isabel and her eleven-year-old daughter River are walking across Regents Park when they come across a distraught-looking man sitting on a bench. They ask him if he’s OK, but he doesn’t know the answer. In fact he doesn’t know the answer to any of their questions – he doesn’t even know his name. Urged on by her daughter, Isabel takes the man to hospital and hopes that will be the end of it. But when the tests show there’s nothing physically wrong with him, and yet he still can’t remember who he is, she realises she can’t walk away. With no ID on him, she will have to call the authorities but there’s a look of fear in the man’s eyes and she knows that’s the last thing he wants. Isabel begins to worry about what he might be hiding about his past but she also made a promise to River that they would help this man. Can they trust him? And how far is she prepared to go to keep her word to her only child?

Screen Shot 2018-02-27 at 11.30.16 I love working with schools. Partly because I was an English teacher for ten years, partly because I write for young adults as well as adults but also because I find children hugely inspiring. Their curiosity, their courage in asking hard questions, their authenticity and their willingness to try new things is tremendously energising. So, I’m thrilled to bits to be celebrating World Book Day with the children of Dedworth Middle School in my homeland – and the county where I lived before moving to the US, Berkshire. On the 1st of March at 9am EST, 2pm GMT, I’ll be running a writing workshop and answering questions about Wishbones, my debut YA novel. Pupils have already read the opening chapters so I’m excited to have their thoughts and questions. If you’re interested in me visiting your school – either in person, if your school is within driving distance of Concord, NH, or by Skype, do contact me: virginia@virginiamacgregor.com Happy World Book Day everyone!
