I’m a visual writer. I picture scenes as they play out on my keyboard. And so, I love to mine images that inspire me and relate to the themes and characters in my novels. I often make collages, post images to the wall above my writing desk and stick them into my notebook.
And of course, for those who have read my first three novels, you will know that I have a predilection of including an animal or two in my fiction. Just because I’ve love them to bits. Because I think they’re magical. Especially when they come together with children – or when two unlikely species collide, as in the image above.
I thought I’d share the picture of the elephant and the pigeon as a little insight into my fourth novel, currently titled Forgetting You. I’ve had it sitting in front of me through the writing process and through the edits. It will be out in 2018. More clues to follow!
