I remember reading my first Ray Bradbury short story, A Sound of Thunder, in the beautiful Lea Library of my secondary school. It was one of those thick-carpeted, sunlit filled, dusty rooms where you could curl up in a corner with a book and forget the world.
A Sound of Thunder is a science-fiction tale of time-travel in which stepping off the path lead to the most enormous consequences. I’m no scientist but I gather this is called The Butterfly Effect. I felt – and envied – the power of Bradbury’s imagination. He continues to inspire me today.
Let the world burn through you. Throw the prism light, white hot, on paper.
